This course is strucutred for delegates who have previouse M.I.G welding experience with aims to further their skills to weld conventional joints in plate or pipe (multi-positionional).
CONTENT
Introduction and registration.
Safety as applied to M.I.G welding (lecture and DVDs).
welding defects(Porosity,undercut,lack of fusion etc.
Fault analysis and correction.
Requirements for a good weld.
Gas identifiaction and applications.
Inductance recommendations where applicable.
Setting and adjusting controls for welding modes,metal transfer(spray and dip).
Types of filler wire and applications
Butt weld joint and fillet weld joint preparation and welding.
Positional welding as follows:
Flat, Horizontal vertical, vertical up, vertial down, OverHead andOverlay multi-positional.
Joints to be completed on mild steel.
Routine equipment maintenance.
Daily review.
