COMPETENCY COURSE
This course has been developed to train delegates who are requested to operate oxy-acetylene/propane cutting equipment for use in the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment.
CONTENTS
Health and safety lecture and videos as applied to Oxy/Acetylene Propane cutting equipment to identify:
Types of gases and their potential dangers.
Cylinder types, their identification and storage.
Types of equipment and their relevant safety devices.
Equipment assembly and testing procedures.
Action to be taken in the event the equipment becomes unsafe.
Hands on exercises:
Lighting up and shutting down procedures.
Straight and chamfered cutting techniques freehand.
Circular cuts with trammels.
Hole piercing techniques in plate and pipe.
