MANUAL METAL ARC WELDING COURSE
This course is to develop the practical and theoretical knowledge of attendees including setting and safely operating welding equipment. To instruct them in the various techniques enabling them to safely and confidently deal with basic applications in the workplace. To obtain the full capabilities from the equipment in use. The theory and demonstrations shall identify with the requirements of British Standards 4872.
CONTENTS
Safety as applied to the Manual Metal Arc welding process.
Identification of welding defects (Porosity, undercut, slag traps etc).
Principles of the Manual Metal Arc welding process.
Volts and amperage settings.
Identification of electrodes.
Identification of weld joint designs and applications.
Applications on butt joints and fillet welds.
Positional welding – horizontal vertical, vertical up, vertical down and overhead.
Tasks can be emulated pertinent to the requirements in the workplace.
